A curatorial project, (pre)Occupation entails years of friendships and collaborations, reams of writing, and a few impossible debts.  The work of (pre)Occupation takes time and effort.  It is the liminal condition prior to occupation, that can only be understood in the afterward of occupation. (pre)Occupation is always, ironically, a focus of attention. It is an attitude to resist a nagging intrusion. (pre)Occupation opportunes a return, one that moves back to what happened before distraction.
